During the period of staying home, I decided to do a 3D character to work on grooming, lookdev, and texturing. This small project allowed me to learn more about grooming in XGen as I have yet to learn much in school.

The character was sculpted in Zbrush, accessories textured in Substance Painter, body textured in Mari, groomed with XGen and rendered in Maya.
To get some of the details, I have light centric one of the light to the eyes to get the eye light and cast one light on the face and fabric to get more of the specular details.
To recreate the patterns on the clothes, I drew the design on Photoshop and stamped them in Substance Painter.
The process of making the hair was quite fun and I learnt quite a lot. To create the bun, I used three half-cylinders, extract the curve to become the guide for the hair and it turns out great.
