Lumière Short Animation

Voilà! Here's an animation short I've been working on. This is the first time I've used Maya, so the progress was challenging but very exciting.

Here's the sketches I did initially to try to map out the possible ways of solving the modeling. Since this was my first go at this, it was incredibly helpful to break it down in simple parts. Below that is the plan for the animation, plus a reference sketch for the animation of the jump.

For the rigging I mainly used IK Handles, but I also used the shape editor to get control over facial expressions and movements. The final details, such as glow, was added in Nuke, and I used Premiere Pro to put it all together.

I don't own any of the sounds used - the music and dialogue are all taken from the original movie.
