The Factory - 3D Environment
'Take a little walk to the edge of town. Go across the tracks' Peaky Blinders is such a visually stimulating show with incredible cinematic's. The slow walk in the factory scene always gets my heart pumping. I'm going to try to recreate the mood and environment as closely as I can.
Update - 6 Jan 2020
Here's the final render! I used this competition as a chance to try out some new techniques such as using volumetric fog to create the god rays. I've also never modelled anything as detailed as a car before which was a challenge. Overall I'm pleased with the final result, I thoroughly enjoyed this contest and am looking forward to seeing everyone's entries.
Update - 6 Jan 2020
Post-processing was all achieved in Corona. Just some simple tone mapping and a grunge LUT applied was enough to get a result close to the look seen in the Peaky Blinders. Going to leave the final image to render for a couple of hours then I'll post it.
Update - 4 Jan 2020
Test render - Few corrections to make and still want to add a little more detail however it's nearly there. Need to tweak the volumetric fog to see if I can get some nice light rays.
Update - 4 Jan 2020
Downloaded some atlases from Megascans of debris (wood, dirt, scrap metal) then use forest pack to scatter them around the scene for a nice bit of added detail
Update - 3 Jan 2020
Textured the scene using Substance designer and Megascans mixer. Also added an overcast HRDI for the sky.
Update - 29 Dec 2019
I've started to roughly block out the environment and populate it with the assets I've been creating. Starting to get an idea of what the scene will look like.
Update - 16 Dec 2019
Firstly I've modelled some repeatable assets which I can later scatter around my scene
