A quick update on my entry; I've reworked the composition fairly significantly for a bit more drama - still most of the scene to create though. Here're are two renders showing an early wip for this arrangement, plus my current stage of progress.

My first WIP for the Blender challenge. I'm starting quite late, so it'll be interesting to see if I can get this finished on time :) Here's my initial blockout and where I've got to, but based on feedback I'm currently re-working the composition.
