Two cowboys race each other through a red light in the middle of the Far West. One of the two has a new horse with the best engine in the country, the other has his faithful horse, but it's at the end of its life, so it's lucky he has more than one bag of tricks!

Challenge 1: Sculpting characters

Creating four sculptures - two cowboys and two horses - was a major challenge. We had to balance realism and cartoon style, making each character unique and coherent for animation.

Challenge 2: Rigging 4 characters cartoon

Rigging two bipeds and two quadrupeds, including facial riggings, required in-depth technical expertise. Each rig had to allow fluid and expressive movements, essential for cartoon animation.

Challenge 3: Short time for the animation

Animating four 20-second sequences in just a week and a half was extremely demanding. Rigorous planning was required to produce dynamic and convincing animations without sacrificing quality.

Challenge 4: Clay and fabric texture

Creating a realistic clay and fabric texture for the characters was a complex task. Capturing the tactile and malleable aspect while remaining faithful to the stop motion style required precise texturing work.

Challenge 5: Stylized smoke effects

Integrating 3D smoke effects seamlessly with the animation required precise synchronization. The effects had to enrich the scenes without distracting from the main focus on the characters.

Challenge 6:  8 Matte Paintings

Creating eight matte paintings for the sets required a combination of creativity and technique. Each painting had to integrate perfectly with the 3D animation, creating immersive, visually harmonious environments.

Each challenge contributed to the creation of a 20-second 3D animation combining technique and creativity.
