Hey, my name is Niels Tombeur, a 3D Character/Creature Artist. I am a recent graduate from Howest Digital Arts and Entertainment in Belgium, where I earned my Bachelor's in 3D Animation. I am now seeking to set foot in the industry and make a lifelong dream come true. All feedback is greatly appreciated.

Zombie Shark

I wanted to make another project for the Rookies, so I had the amazing idea to make a zombie shark. It was honestly a very hard sculpt, because of the different textures and details. I very much enjoyed seeing the process and I am very happy with my final render. Enjoy!

Velociraptor

This is one of my most recent projects. After I finished the work on my lion, I didn't know what I wanted my next project to be. So, while watching these Jurassic Park fan-made movies from Ali Awada, I messaged him to propose a collaboration. Consequently, I created a velociraptor for him. I didn't expect it to turn out so great, but I'm very proud of the result and look forward to seeing this character on the big screen. šŸ˜Š

Female Lion

The goal for this project was to create a complete creature, with a skeleton, muscles, body, rig, and groom. This was a challenging project due to the skills it demanded. It consumed much of my free time for two months: I put a lot of effort and dedication into this personal project. I'm thrilled with the outcome and incredibly proud of the result. Enjoy the making progress.

Small dragon

I saw this beautiful artwork from Brian Valeza and was inspired to create a speedsculpt based on it. However, after 4 hours of speed sculpting, I found myself genuinely enjoying the process and decided to turn it into a finished piece, completed with textures. This marks my first attempt at crafting a realistic creature.

Initially, I found the texturing process to be quite challenging, but in the end, I am truly pleased with the final result.

Knight

This was an artwork I did for the course 'Character Creation' for games in DAE. I am very proud of the result. First I modeled it in Maya, then I sculpted via Zbrush, texturing I did in Substance Painted, and, to top it all off, rendering happened in Marmoset Toolbag.

Glove

I got the idea of sculpting a glove, thinking it would be challenging. After dedicating 16 hours to this project, I am pleased to say that I am very satisfied with the final result.

Iā€™d like to share some of my best speed sculpting works. When I start to lose touch with my larger projects (shown above), I turn to speed sculpting to rekindle my interest. Ninety-five percent of my speed sculpts are creatures, which are a huge part of my passion for this craft. Here are some of my finest pieces so far!
