CO-WORKING SPACE DESIGN

To design a co-working space, for NeuehousE. The design intention of this Co-working space is to create a calming work environment by using dark neutral tones, and industrial style and complementing it with dynamic, curved and textured materials, adding plants to create a calming and fresh environment that makes them feel closer to nature.

Concept Statement

STEP BY STEP

NeueHouse, the same definition of 'NEW', reflected new standards and the different co-working space environment. Based on their brand identity, They advocate evolution, growth and transformation to describe 'new', that's where the idea comes from. Interpret it in different layering, and show how the shape grows and transforms. Looks like a shape is transforming from layer to layer in every organic shape. Every shape is different in layers, and changes slowly, named 'step by step'. The different flow of curves and shapes will bring an illusion which slowly grows and evolves, and when it strongly applies in space, the feeling of transformation will come out.

FURNITURE LAYOUT PLAN - GROUND FLOOR
FURNITURE LAYOUT PLAN - FIRST FLOOR
Reception Area - The reception area serves as the primary point of contact for members and visitors, providing a welcoming and efficient entry point into the workspace. It's designed to convey professionalism, accessibility, and hospitality while facilitating seamless operations within the facility. There are a lot of layering panels and designs on ceilings, walls and counter designs with curved shapes, in terms of showing an illusion of transformation and evolving into the space.
Hot Desk Area - A hot desk area in a co-working space is a dynamic and flexible workspace designed to accommodate individuals who need a temporary or on-demand workspace. It's characterized by its open layout, shared workstations, and collaborative atmosphere, providing members with a versatile environment to work, connect, and collaborate. Facing the big window to embrace nature can easily get motivation and mood to work. Besides, the big panels on the window are up to the second floor, reflecting growth and evolution.
Lounge Area
Library - The library area in a co-working space offers a serene and focused environment for members to engage in deep work, research, or quiet contemplation. It's designed to provide a retreat from the bustling activity of the main workspace, offering a tranquil space for concentration and reflection. As a killing point, there are a lot of organic shape platforms on the floor and ceiling panels, which show the transformation, evolution and growth of the whole interior. Besides, that’s also a signal to tell people to keep exploring and keep growing. The library area is also near the window, which means it is using a natural light source and can save a lot of cost.
Event Hall
Private Pods
Pantry - The Pantry room serves as a communal area where members can relax, socialize, and refuel throughout the day. It's designed to provide convenience, comfort, and connectivity, offering a range of amenities to enhance the work experience. The style of the design is industrial style, which matches with the existing co-working space recently by using solid wood and concrete. Comes with some layering ceiling design to reflect the concept - New.

RESTAURANT DESIGN

To design a fine dining restaurant, for Hakkasan. The design intention of this Chinese fine-fining restaurant is to provide a space that gathers or dates with a different atmosphere, creating an exquisite Chinese-style fine-dining restaurant, our vision is to infuse traditional elegance with contemporary luxury restaurants. This culinary haven will be a harmonious blend of opulent aesthetics and warm ambience, inviting families, friends, and couples to immerse themselves in an elevated dining experience. The interior will capture the essence of Chinese culture, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

Concept Statement

BEYOND BORDERS

This design is about the intersection of culture, which represents the restaurant’s Chinese cuisine and lifestyle, which represents wine in the restaurant. Based on this, the elements that are related to or significant will mix or intersect which my idea is inspired by. From the cultural side, I choose Chinese calligraphy art while on the lifestyle side, I choose the spinning form of wine surface texture. The reason is that Chinese calligraphy is a signature of Chinese culture. From the texture or first impression, the shape is undulate and sinuous; spinning and whirling shape is a signature or first impression action about wine. This carries out the restaurant's identity which is an intersection of culture and lifestyle. From this direction, the concept and design will be surrounded by the intersection of undulate and whirl.

FACADE DESIGN

Reception - The reception area in a restaurant serves as the first point of contact for people, providing a welcoming and organized environment that sets the tone for the dining experience. Design play with different thicknesses and layers of lines to represent the intersection. Using dark tones and wood material as the main material to reflect the Chinese atmosphere of the space comes with some spot lighting and LED lighting as decoration.

Tea Section - The waiting area (tea section) in a restaurant is a designated space where guests can comfortably wait for their tables to become available or for their dining companions to arrive. It's strategically located near the reception or entrance, allowing for easy access and efficient management of guest flow. Take some green and natural light sources for calm and comfortable feelings.

Dining Area - The dining area in a restaurant is the heart of the establishment, where guests come together to enjoy their meals in a comfortable and inviting environment. People will greeted by a calm and Chinese blend of design elements, including stylish furnishings, atmospheric lighting, and tasteful decor that reflects the restaurant's unique personality. By using a lot of Chinese elements including wallpaper, pendants, wood and mesh screens to match the culinary of the restaurant.

Bar Area - The Bar area in a restaurant serves as a lively focal point where guests can enjoy handcrafted cocktails, fine wines, and premium spirits in a vibrant and social atmosphere. By using a feature ceiling design on the bar counter to represent the intersection of culture and lifestyle.

Private Dining Room - A private dining room in a restaurant offers an exclusive and intimate setting for guests to enjoy special occasions, private gatherings, and business events away from the main dining area. It's designed to provide a secluded and personalized experience, with attention to detail and impeccable service. The cabinet uses a special colour tone to contrast, ceiling panel uses laser cutting mesh panel purposely to have an amazing intersection shadow casting.
