Demoreel 2023-2024 Mathias Fourneret Digital Compositor
Hello there! I'm glad to share my entry to the rookies 2024, I hope you'll enjoy it :)
Havester intro: a polluted sunrise
Cam animation, CG comp, DMP
The DMPs are all made using a combination of numerous already existing earth pictures that were photobashed in our own custom one. This allowed us to get a photorealistic result with very thin details quite fast.
For this particular shot, I also did some hand made city lights for the dark side of the earth.
Others shots I worked on with a similar workflow:
Explorer IV
CG comp, DMP
This project was made with Clémence Debit, who was responsible for all the modelling texturing, lookdev, Pierre Ghio for the animation and Valantine Viotti for the rigging.
Harvester: waking up in the station
Track, CG comp, key, integration, stockshots integration
Others shots I worked on with a similar workflow:
HARVESTER: Inside the escape pod
CG comp, key, integration, geotrack, clean
This shot was a challenging one! Even if the design of the helmet was done before the shooting, we had some limitation that pushed our Modeller Nicolas Beyaert and me to do a lot of back and forth in order to find the best looking and matching helmet.
Even with that, I still needed to clean some parts of the suit and face.
This shot standing apart of the rest, the CG bg was kept simple so it could be enhanced in Comp, such as the screen lights, the reflections and some others imperfections.
Harvester: Alarm lights
CG comp, projections, stockshots integration
Harvester: Into the pit
CG comp, projections, stockshots integration
Because of the quantity of shots needed to be delivered, we decided to give comp a large maneuverability in post. This shot more than the others required a lot of projection on top of the procedural shaders. For that, I gathered many references and textures to add more realistic details.
I used also a large variety of stock shots to give more life to the shot.
Harvester: The engine room
Track, CG comp, key, integration, stockshots integration
Harvester: First explosion
CG comp
Harvester: Final explosion
CG comp, stockshots integration
All of the HARVESTER shots were part of my graduation movie. My fellow comrades were Nicolas Beyaert (Modelling Texturing, Lookdev), Guilhem Bergon (CG generalist), Hugo Belfio (FX), Maxence Piedeloup (Comp), Yolan Gaillard (FX).
Silhouette shortfilm
DMP made based on top of Marc Forest concepts for the background and the reflexions.
Additional work on the entiere sequence.
Silhouette is another short film I had an opportunity to work with. I worked on the entire night balcony sequence
