Synopsis

In a world where magic one day suddenly manifests through the art of movement, powers have become commonplace through the medium of dance. While this has given life and aid to many communities, there are also individuals who also seek to abuse this power for selfish motives.

The story follows Quincy “Queen” Bellamy, who is scouted by a squad leader from the Police Dance Force after being recognised for his potential of fusion dancing, which he developed through his high visual acuity and being exposed to several dances though his several game escapades and youth.

Due to an unexpected turn of events, Queen accepts a position in the Viper Squad, meeting eccentric but competent individuals trained in an array of dance forms.

Trouble, however looms on the horizon as a rising group of terrorism threatens the peace of the city. The more Queen performs his duties to protect the innocent, the more he finds out that everything is not as it seems.

Glissade

Named after the move from ballet terminology when the supernatural force is first noted to be seen being influenced by, the magic which materialises with aesthetic movement is referred to as Glissade.

While general fluid movement with intention can certainly bring forth Glissade, it is significantly easier to be channeled through dance moves and artistic movement. Glissade manifests in many forms depending on the execution of the move and the individual who performs it, but they can be identified by unorthodox formation of color and light. The nature and effect differs too, and can range from psychological to physical impacts. 

The impact of Glissade has also shaped society, as cultures, businesses and communities has started integrating the magic into everyday life. Dance and other forms of movement that are identified to channel Glissade has been placed on high pedestals. Societal rules, fashion, entertainment, media, music and myriads of intricacies formed and woven around Glissade over time and placed its foothold in the world.

Setting

Set in the city of Cincinnati Plaza, a Metropolis bustling with color, culture from many walks of life and chaos as it’s regarded as one of the Hearts Of Dance, a term given to areas where it is regarded as the largest active hubs of glissade.

The glissade enforcement of the Cincinnati is under the jurisdiction of the PDF with five active squads (Viper, Python, Cobra, Boa, Mamba), and the viper squad is in charge of the western part of the city.

There are as of now 8 active members in the Viper Squad who are trained in the following forms of dance/performance art:

- Video Game/Fusion (Queen)
- Latin (Bluebell)
- Ballet (Beethoven)
- Silat (Naga)
- Musical canine freestyle (K-9 unit, Jackson and Michael)
- Capoeira (Ponteira)
- Lion Dance/Chinese Dance/Wu Shu (2 members, Rip and Tear)

Quincy "Queen" Bellamy

Dance Specialisation: Rhythm Game/Fusion

Personality: Tries to seem rough/unapproachable, but is very mild-mannered and gentle. Soft spot for animals, and has a humanitarian streak.

Preferred Fashion: Androgynous vintage/retro fashion, look to Elvis, Bowie, Prince, and MJ. Followed the style from his mother, whom he highly idolises.

Bluen "Bluebell" Danube

Dance Specialisation: Latin

Glissade Effects: Illusion. His Glissade Mark is a fairy, located at the center of his back. His body glows a violet hue when achieving his glissade, and he leaves a trail of powdery violet. He is able to conjure up optical illusions.

Personality: Chill demeanor, responsible and reliable. Has a bit of a playboy vibe.

Fashion: Anything flamboyant. Has an intricate hairstyle.

Elliot "Beethoven" Tchaikovsky

Dance Specialisation: Ballet

Glissade Effects: Boundary. His Glissade Mark is a compass, and it's located on the center of his chest. His limbs have a gradient of teal to turquoise when activating his glissade. He is able to intricately make webs of geometric lines that form at the tips of his limbs, and can manipulate them.

Personality: Prefers structure and rules, gets uncomfortable and skittish if things don't go perfectly. Very particular of details.

Preferred Fashion: Clan uniform.

Eka "Naga" Rosario

Dance Specialisation: Silat

Glissade Effects: Roses and constriction. Her Glissade mark is of a snake and a rose, located above her left back ankle. Her body glowsduring glissade activation, and she leaves a trail of petals. She is able to manipulate roses down to their components, like using roots to bind or thorns/sharpened petals. 

Personality: Stoic and fierce, willing to do anything to protect the ones she loves.

Preferred Fashion: Hijab-friendly academia, with flairs of traditional batik motif.

Arnette "Jackson" Williams (with K-9 dog "Michael")

Dance Specialisation: Hip-hop/Musical Canine Freestyle

Glissade Effects: Animal attunement and amplification. Her Glissade Mark is at her left hand, covered by a white sequined glove. During activation, she and the animal that she attunes with will glow a yellow hue. Her Glissade allows her to communicate telepathically with an animal, and if the animal were to aid in dance her physical capabilities will be boosted.

Personality: Vibrant and bubbly, she is very easygoing and likes to learn new things and has a habit of picking up a random craft before abandoning it a month later. Does not take kindly to people making fun of her age. Michael the dog loves everyone. And food. Is the squad's personal vacuum cleaner.

Caetano "Ponteira" Santos

Dance Specialisation: Capoeira

Glissade Effects: Dinosaur body amplification. His Glissade Mark is a triangle with tribal motifs on his lower back, and his limbs will turn orange. 

Personality: A very competent and naturally gifted dancer, however is very eccentric and at times child-like. Really, REALLY likes dinosaurs, and has a habit of judging someone's character based on thsir answer to what their favourite dinosaur is. 

Preferred Fashion: Prefers wear that is flexible and dinosaur-themed.

"Rip and Tear"

1. Victoria "Rip" Zheng

Dance Specialisation: Lion Dance/Wushu

Glissade Effects: Fire channeling. Her Glissade mark is an outstretched hand and a sun, and is located at her left shoulder. She glows a bluish aura when channeling, and her flames take on a white/blue colour. She is able to spawn fire through a medium like a weapon/costume. 

Personality: Bratty and foul-mouthed. Also loves everything supernatural, and often drags other people into trouble, and is a bad luck magnet. Is intelligent but chooses not to use it.

2. Tobias "Tear" Zheng

Dance Specialisation: Lion Dance/Chinese Dance

Glissade Effects: Water channeling. His Glissade Mark is a fist and a moon, and is located at his right shoulder. He glows a reddish aura when channeling, and his water takes on a black/red colour. He is able to spawn water through a medium like a weapon/costume.

Personality: Tries to act cool and suave, but in reality constantly panics and doesn't have a clue on what's happening. He is extremely supertitious and constantly get dragged into his twin sister's shenanigans.

Preferred Fashion: Hypebeast trend
