Once my alphas were finished, I started adding detail to painter. I used my alphas made in Photoshop and alphas whose parameters are adjustable in painter (like for the tri-color border of the head). I added hieroglyphs to the base and to the edge of the head to make a reminder between the different parts of the body. It is the same for the striped pattern, blue and gold, reminiscent of the headdresses of the pharaohs.

To provide variation, I added dirt, grunge layers... and I played with the color, roughness, and height settings. I tried playing with the Small/Mid/Big rule. This is why I added patterns to the big displaces like the bracelets, the belt, and the base.

To add volume to my meet map shape, I added displace. It allowed me to create the effect of a sunbeam-shaped headdress. I also tested several headdress effects (as tested during the concept stage) but this one remained the most convincing.

I based my texturing on the previously created concept, but I reworked it a lot to make it more detailed and in-depth. I also changed quite a few patterns. At the feet, I finally found it more interesting to put lotus flower motifs in fresco.

First, I started texturing my meet map by creating a blue ceramic base. To add irregularity to this material, I put cracks in it, and played with roughness and height imperfections. I then created alphas on Photoshop to create mosaic patterns, frescoes, and symbols such as the scarab visible on the head, the ankh on the arms or even the eye of Horus... Once my alphas finished, I started to add details to painter. So, I used my alphas as a base and added other details using alphas whose parameters are adjustable on painter.

Amazed since my childhood by the different types of mythology, and in particular Egyptian mythology, I wanted to carry out this Meet Mat project in connection with this culture.

I took as major inspiration the vases and pottery of Egyptian culture, rich in patterns, symbols and ornaments. The Meet Map having the shape of a little man, I added an Egyptian garment, the loincloth, representing the outfits of the time. I also added ornaments and materials of Egyptian king, queen and pharaoh, such as gold, turquoise, and painted ceramic.

I took my references from Pinterest as well as from historical books; and based my concept on jewelry, frescoes, ancient pillars, and more generally on detailed objects that existed.

I drew different displaces for the head of the meet mat. To see what would look best, I would test these displaces in 3D on substance painter
