What kind of robot is this?!

AND... It's here, Fish, the little robot fish !

I'm Rémi Perrier, a French 3D artist currently studying at ESMA. I want to specialize in lighting and texturing. For me, the Meet Mat event was a golden opportunity to showcase my skills. Not only was it a lot of fun, but it was also gratifying to express my creativity without any constraints, letting my imagination run wild. This exercise allowed me to demonstrate my artistic and technical abilities fully.

I opted to explore various directions with a rather eccentric theme: a robot fish struggling to breathe. I endeavored to include as many intricate details as possible, such as hands interacting with the Meet Mat, scratches, stickers peeling off, welds between different materials, and more. Despite the time investment, it proved to be an immensely gratifying experience!

November to January :

Thank you for watching!

I'd like to thank my loved ones who have been with me throughout this project, as it's been pretty intense between my coursework and trying to do something good for Meet Mat. Despite many sleepless nights, I was finally able to finish it and I'm happy with the result.

Thanks to the people I was able to talk to about this project, it was very enriching.

Thanks to The Rookies and Substance for offering great opportunities for artists like this.

I'd also like to salute all the other participants who are doing a great job - you're awesome! Good luck to you all!
