Courier de Mardi Gras

I was inspired by Cino Lai's MeetMAT pitch to create a traditional cultural costume, which led me to want to create a Mardi Gras costume. I come from Southern Louisiana where Mardi Gras is a big part of the culture. Each year on the day before the beginning of the Lenten season, people gather to celebrate their vices before the Lenten feast. This day is know as Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras in French. 

 Around my hometown area, people wear eccentric costumes to wear while they parade around and chase chickens to cook in a gumbo feast. The costumes typically have a crafted face mask to conceal the faces of the party-goers, some version of a put together suit, and a large conical hat, all of which I've included in my design.
