Egg Cell Meet Mat

As an artist my major inspiration is nature, specifically macroscopic views within biology. I decided my Meet Mat would be a way to celebrate life, hence I chose to represent a cell,the smallest living organism and the basic unit of life on earth.

For the head

After some research I managed to narrow down my research within types of cells and I chose to celebrate life with the sweetest of all the cells, the ovum, which in human physiology, is a single cell released from either of the female reproductive organs, the ovaries, which is capable of developing into a new organism when fertilized (united) with a sperm cell.

For the body

The body will serve as canvas for more cells, millions of spermatozoa/sperm cells, which are moving in order to reach and fertilize the ovum cell.
