Meet Marvin !

Unfortunetly it's not finish yet. Theses fast renders are here to show where I am, but of course I will finish it and give a better prez.

My idea wasn't clear and I wasn't satisfy so I restarted from basic shape. I want to get away from the original identify of my inspiration. I just saw that baking was permit so that offer more option to me.

Some I bring more reference of where i'm going which is more dark alien, dangerous

So today  I started with the hardest and most hypothetical, technically speaking. I only worked with "push" brush, trying to reduce artifact cause by the little fold around the disc face

I splitted the mat for baking process to avoid artifact with thickness. I just export the baked map to the initial project after. And I'm kinda satisfy, I just don't know yet if it worth to take time to clean edge for the full face version.  Cause, infortunatly, I'm in rush

Well I did'nt have much time yet but today I started some concrete test.
The thing that worries me most is probably the helmet, especially the jaw protection.

A quick test for the feet let me think that making those iconic big feet will not work too

And finnaly the first hour of working on Painter. I'm satisfied at first sight for the broom brush, I expected more artifact

Well, guys... This is it! I'm so excited to be part of it! The last comtest, I was just starting my school and I was so mad to miss it, more again when I saw that it wouldn't be the next year. But finally it come... from no where !

So I would bring back a popular character of animation history. I search a lot to found someone who can work with the lil cuty MAT.

And from deep to my memories I had few image of a dangerously cute lil boy.

Be prepared to meet Marvin the Martian

Unfortunately I didn't have time yet to draw some concept but I made a reference board of the 2 ideas I have in my mind.

Marvin is the commander of Martian army so he need a general armor. The original design parodies Roman military dress which is understandable since Mars is the Roman god of war. I think warping the cape around is body is a pretty good and stylish way to make this item viable since we can't add mesh.

Of course he have to get some alien stuff. I want to make him more lively so I won't stay in a toon vibe/shading. These realistic eyes in this little refrence grab me so deep. I want that feeling. I want to bring out is darker side ,even if he looks cute and calm it's just because he don't have mouth and need to express himself in a secure and healthy way but he can be particularly fearsome. He have the power to destroy the Earth

So maybe some armor or alien suit like tech fabric with martien emblem/sign

Hope I will have time next week to udpate and show what I have in mind
