A brief journey through the last two shots I've worked on, which have provided me with technical and creative skills in animation. After these two challenges, I'm looking forward to embarking on the next one :)

Hello! My name is Abel, I am a 3D animator, and I'm here to present my two latest animation projects that I am most proud of. Ever since I did my first acting shot in school, it became clear to me that I had a special attraction to bringing characters to life and giving them personality. I enjoy giving them a backstory and building relationships between them that go beyond the shot itself.

The first shot I'm presenting is a musical that showcases a conflict between two characters who struggle to understand each other. In addition to expressing their emotions through gestures and facial expressions, I wanted to differentiate their personalities through the animation style. The adult character is animated in a more naturalistic manner, while the child character is animated in a more cartoonish style.

In the progression shot, you can appreciate the differences in the reference when it comes to the acting of both characters. It was a challenge to portray a slightly more cartoonish character, but the rhythm and attitude depicted in the video were crucial for the animation, even though the gestures were exaggerated later on.

In the last shot I've been working on, I aimed to give this character a darker atmosphere, a background that is somewhat more traumatic and filled with suffering due to the death of their daughter. I wanted to focus on the character's status and their thought process throughout the shot. I believe these aspects can make you ponder for a long time about the character's story you have in your hands.

The gap between the reference and the final result for this shot is much smaller than in the previous example. It was an idea that was very solid from the beginning, and the challenge was to explore the character's emotions through subtle gestures and looks.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to my mentors who have taken my skills to the next level through these two shots: Sergio Díez and Luis Velasco, outstanding professionals with an impressive ability to teach and bring out the best in the ideas of other animators.
