Hi! I am Lin, a motion designer who is also an enthusiast of cars and video games. In my free time, I study cars, from the mechanical aspects to the driving experience. I also fix cars myself. 

Just like fixing cars, I like to think of my work in motion graphics as problem-solving. It involves critical thinking, decision-making, creativity, and information processing. From now on, you will be seeing a collection of personal work I've created during my time at SCAD. I hope you enjoy them! ;) 

'The Haunting of Bly Manor' Title Sequence Rebrand

Concept: 

This is a collaborative project to reimagine the title sequence of the Netflix original series The Haunting of Bly Manor. Redesigned to emphasize the series' intertwined connections of horror, emotion, and complex storytelling. With this in mind, our designs focused on depicting places of significance in the series as a means of foreshadowing the overall plot without revealing the story at hand. Stylistically, the project is a combination of different styles such as illustration, 3d technology, and 2d animation; allowing for a calm but slightly unsettling feeling, in keeping with the haunting of Bly Manor.

People Watching Lyric Video

Concept:

This is a typography project from my motion design class at SCAD. The thesis for this lyric video is lonely romance. The design direction is lonely but engaging and romantic. I am able to deliver those feelings with a monotone color palette, appropriate change of space and distance, and acceleration in motion. Designed in Adobe After Effects.

Maserati Logo Animation

Concept:

Maserati is known for producing high-performance sports cars. Maserati has always positioned itself as a luxury brand, and its cars are known for their sleek designs. When I create this logo animation, I think it is only appropriate to keep their existing design elements and emphasize the performance in motion and sound.

Polestar Logo Animation

Concept:

Polestar’s goal is to build sustainable performance luxury electric cars. After deep research, I think their logo and brand are pure and minimalistic, yet with a strong presence. And in this project, I want to emphasize their ambition for a futuristic sustainable plan for zero-emission and express the brand's level of luxury with elegant motion and design.
