The Tower

This assignment served as practice for composition and color, the Tower being the main focus. It involved iteration of composition and color through studies.

This was the most fun I've had during the whole preproduction course. I really enjoy creating my own beautiful environments or backgrounds, playing with colors, lighting and evoking a painterly feeling that instills a sense of positivity in one's perspective of life

Uphill

This was my first time of going through the whole preproduction pipeline"

I learned a lot about the process of creating concept art, starting from gathering references, thumbnailing, horizontal/vertical design, and eventually creating the final desing

Although it was a difficult and time consuming task, I am happy about the whole learning experience and satisfied with my end result!

I had the honor of having this artwork showcased on the school's website as a banner and overview:

Grandma's House

Exam Assignment for the 3D 1 course.

The 3D1 course did not expect any previous 3D experience from us, we were taught the basics of modeling in Maya and texturing in Photoshop. Besides the technical parts of modeling and texturing we were also taught soft skills such as composition, storytelling and mood development.

I had several themes to choose from, and among them, I selected 'Grandma's House' due to its familiar aesthetics that hold a special place in my heart.

Flying Circus

An assignment for the GameArt course.

That was my first time creating a stylized model, and it was proven to be an incredibly fascinating and educational experience.

The textures are inspired by our beautiful  and lovely nature.

Based on a Fairey IIF plane.

Sky Wars

Exam assignment for the Preproduction 1 course.

The task entailed creating an airborne vehicle based on one of two themes provided. I chose Freebooting Sky farers / Pirates!

The Cannon

An assignment for the Preproduction 1 course.

We were assigned to paint a scene featuring a cannon, a barrel, and a prop of our our choice, which I incorporated as the rudder in my project. During the assignment, we were introduced to the process of value painting and its conversion to color.

I found this assignment to be a great learning experience.

Retro Kitchen Device

An introductory assignment to subdivision modelling for the 3D2 course

Our task was modeling a realistic retro kitchen device exclusively using quads. It taught me the correct arrangement of topology in 3D modeling.

The technical complexity of subdivision modeling was intimidating, however, to my surprise, it evolved into an enjoyable experience.

WeaponCraft

An assignment for the Game Art course

We had to take reference from the game "World of Warcraft" and design a weapon to fit in its universe. Multiple ways of alternating concepts were presented to us and we could choose which ones to use. It was the second assignment in that style so handpainting textures became a much more comfortable process. I have chosen to create a weapon made out of amber because of my homecity, Świnoujście, which is known for this gemstone.

Procedural Gazebo and Watchtower

Two assignments done for the Procedural Introduction course, an introductory one and the exam.

We were required to make two procedural asset HDA tools, first for a gazebo, then for a fire watch tower, capable of morphing into different shapes and proportions without breaking. Those were done in Houdini, a software unlike any other I have used before, it was my first experience of creating art through maths.

I believe this course taught me the basic workflow of a technical artist, which will come in helpful in the future. I do not intend to become one myself, but it will definitely help me understand them better and collaborate with technical artists more effectively.
