Hey I’m a student and have just finished my 3rd year in animation at ECV Nantes and I will introduce you my work that I have done since January 2023. I’ve started learning RIG and I became a fan of that practice. I used Maya, Zbursh, Substance Painter, After Effect and Photoshop. I hope that you will enjoy my work !

Y'a pas Photo

"Y'a pas Photo" in english "There is no Photo" is a short film that we have made from the start to the end in 25 days, in a group of 5 person from my class. This movie re-invent the creation of the first photography ever made.

Watch it and I'll tell you what I specifically did on the short film right after!

The RIG

I had the role to make the RIG of the only character in the movie called Joseph. It was really challenging as we had never fully done a rig during our studies, and we haven’t done any RIG’s faces. Another challenge was the quality of the modelisation because it was the first time that we were making the RIG of our character modelisation. I helped as well for the retopology of the jacket.

I am very proud of the final result and all of the making process because we didn’t meet any massive issues.

Animation

During the production, I also had to animate. The specificity of our art direction was that the animation should look like stop motion just like « Oni : Thunder God’s Tale ».

I have experimented two styles of animation in pose to pose for my first sequence. For the second one, I animated in a classic way, then I applied keys on all of my controler every two frames to finish I stepped the interpolation.
And here is the result !

Credits

As the production was on time , we were able to make the film credits which was one of my tasks. I took all of the shaded objects and then I created these sequences. It was a great exercice to improve my skills in lighting as it was one of the subject I used to struggle at.

Modelisation

To conclude, I took part to some modelisation that you can see just here.

The Spider

This project is my first one made with Zbrush. I chose the spider Gasteracantha Cancriformis because I found it pretty et mostly it has a very interesting abdominal part. Thanks to that project, I learned the basics of Zbrush. Then, I did the textures on Substance Painter and here is the result !

Camera Nikon F50

Here is the Nikon F50, an old film camera that I own and which I based my modelisation on. It is part of a decoration that comes just after. I enjoyed getting more in details on the camera so I just wanted to show a bit more of it.

Living Room

Here the interior decoration thatI made at the start of this year. It is inspired by one of the decor of the film « Weathering with You » of Makoto Shinkai which I am a fan of. I imagined the living room of a very messy photographer.

Pokemon's RIG

Here is some Pokemon’s RIG. I’ve always been a big fan of Pokémon. The Pokmons are really great for personal projects as we can pick easy or difficult ones to make depending on the time we have. One I started to create some, I noticed that some person liked them. So I I did the RIG and I share them for free from my Instagram account so people can use them. This is how Pokemons have become my RIG’s test laboratory and here is the result.
