FX Demo Reel - Sacha Amsalem - 2023
After one year specializing in visual effects creation, i'm honored to present my first real demo.
Hello, I'm proud to share with you my first Demo Reel.
I worked one year for it, I intent to become a Professionnal Fx artist cause now i'm available to work!
Detailed Shots description :
Battle Ship (inspired by star wars)
Responsible for all aspect, except modeling.
(Procedural debris, pop blaster/sparks, Pyro, RBD,Shading, Lighting, Render, Comp)
I built several layers of simulations:
- A pop simulation for each ship for Blasters and Sparks.
- A pop simulation for each ship to instantiate debris on each point.
- A pyro simulation for each explosion.
- An RBD simulation of deformed/ripped metal for the hole in the Venator ship's hull.
Water Vortex:
Responsible for terrain, water and Mist.
(Procedural Rock, Flip, Whitewater, Volume Mist, Shading, Render, Comp).
- Multiple FLIP Clusters.
- Multiple WW Clusters.
- Meshing blend with ocean spectrum.
- Pyro Mist emitted from WW Pts on vortex.
I built an extra greyscale attribute to blending all Water Clusters in Comp.
I have on wet sim on four Rocks arround the water vortex.
The terrain was made with the heighfeild workflow and render to a plane with a displacement map.
Volcano Smoke:
Responsible for all aspects except plate shot.
(Pyro Plume, Shading, Lighting, Render).
Tracking 3D camera on nuke and export Cam Abc and Point cloud to houdini.
Pyro sparse for the smoke.
