Kami No Sekai

KAMI NO SEKAI , or "The World of Gods" is an individual project created for my 2023 Rookies submission. 

"Kami No Sekai" is set in an alternate version of our world, where a cataclysmic event known as the "Convergence of Pantheons" occurred 15 years ago. Multiple Gods from different pantheons descended upon Earth, engaging in a destructive war. The resulting battles created "Nexus" events, which caused widespread devastation, loss of life, and displacement.

Even after the battles ceased, the Nexus events persisted, continuing to wreak havoc and disrupt the Earth's landscape. Witnesses of the divine-human interactions during the war reported some individuals being blessed with spectral powers. Concerns for humanity's safety prompted the formation of the Divine Events Suppression Force (D.E.S.F), an international organization established by world governments.

The D.E.S.F recruits those bestowed with powers to aid in suppressing the remaining Nexus events scattered across the world. Their mission is to ensure the safety and stability of humanity in the aftermath of the Convergence of Pantheons.

For this project I wanted to have  a grounded futuristic and mythological feel to the story. As it is set in a variation of Earth I wanted the designs to be somewhat realistic. For this I paired techwear fashion with mythological motifs from various pantheons., hoping to achieve a cohesive design across both costume, weapon and environment designs.

Here are my concepts for my project. 

The three characters I designed below would form the main trio of the story. Over the course of the story they would interact and form relationships with multiple other characters. 
I designed these three based of my personal love for their patron Gods and the mythology associated with them. 

For the weapons I wanted their designs to fit in with both the world, characters personalities and costumes and also reflect the deities they are divine weapons for. 

For the environments I wanted to create ones that were important to the story. I chose three environments to hopefully showcase the cohesive diversity that spans the world.
