Hello! I'm Kateryna, a 3D Environment artist. This year I've finished the CGMA course Creating Stylized Game Assets and want to show one of the projects done for this course. The other works were my submissions to ArtStation Challenge Medieval: Back and Forth. Hope you will enjoy my work!

ArtStation Challenge Medieval: Back and Forth

Challenge main theme:

We’re challenging artists to not only imagine the middle ages, but to see it as a destination for modern travelers. A place where old meets the new. A collab with our ancestors. How would fashion, customs, architecture and transport look if we could visit our ancestors or they could visit us?

Here is my main idea:

I'm sure there were enough entrepreneurs and business-oriented people in the Middle Ages who knew how to adapt quickly to new needs and wouldn't miss an opportunity.

Waves of travelers, from modern digital nomads and history enthusiasts to just ordinary travelers, are potential customers who can bring in a lot of gold coins.

Here is my entry for the ArtStation Challenge

Prop 1: CoffeeStop

What kind of journey is without a cup of coffee? Throw a coin and get your portion of black gold.

Prop 2: Currency exchange kiosk

Don’t have full pockets of golden coins in 2023? Your journey to Middle Ages begins here. Hungry? MediEats will deliver to any corner of the medieval world. Unless your courier doesn’t take an arrow in the knee

Prop 3: Workplace

Have strict deadlines? Stable internet, a comfortable workplace, and a charging site. It’s all available to you, just don’t forget to feed the birds on the shield.

Some process:

Final renders:

All models were done in Maya, high poly in Zbrush, baking in Marmoset Toolbag, texturing in Substance Painter and 3DCoat, and rendering in Marmoset Toolbag.

Thanks a lot for your time!
