This is a compilation of the latest projects that I made at Fx Animation. In this post you will find 3 great fantasy worlds, full of color, life and creativity. You can visit the ancient Egypt, enjoy the Fx carnival amusement park or lose yourself in the incredible world of Alice. I hope you like.

WORLDS OF FANTASY - JUAN TEJEIRA 

Hello Rookies! For me it´s a pleasure to present my last 3 projects, which I had done during my master's degree at FX Animation Barcelona. During the realization of these projects, I can demonstrate my great growth and my improvement in art and skills creating game ready 3D enviroments, props, characters and materials. During this school year I made three different proyects, whit different 3D art styles and characteristics that made them very special and unique. My passion for art and videogames has been the engine that has led me to improve my projects to always deliver worlds of fantasy and dreams. I hope you like it!

The Ancient Egypt - Explorer Game

Welcome to the Ancient Egypt, land of pharaohs and gods.

This explorer will take you through the beautiful landscapes of Egypt, from its great deserts, its mythical and majestic temples, to its gigantic pyramids and sculptures. For this proyect I had the task to made a big landscape, the complexity of the project lies in the complexity of Egyptian architecture, full of hieroglyphs and impressive sculptures. I really enjoyed being able to do this environment in 3 weeks and get satisfactory results.

This project is inspired by the Assasin´s Creed Origins game, trying to recreate its biggest scenarios full of life and dynamism. The biggest challenge  of this project was to be able to deliver something of the quality of the Ubisoft company. I hope you like it. 


Horus - God of heaven, hunting and war.

What better way than tour Egypt than being a God. For this project I present Horus as a character. He is one of the gods of Egyptian mythology, he was the god of heaven, hunting and war. On this map you can visit its vast and glorious temple. 

It took me 1 month to made this character, for its preparation I learned how to use cards for hair and fabric dynamics.

Egypt Architecture - Assets 

The magic of modularity makes this beautiful set dressing possible with few assets but of the best quality and diversity, creating a vast and precious set dressing at their mercy. From architectural walls, wild plants and majestic sculptures, to small vases with engravings and gigantic pyramids.

Props Kitbash - Some of the assets using to give diversity to the enviroment.

Hero Props

Columns - For this columns I tried to replicate the columns of Assasin´s Creed game, so its was quite a challenge but very fun.

Demo Reel

This demo reel shows you the vast map from different shots, so you can appreciate the beauty of the ancient egypt as if it were a documentary.

FX Carnival - Fighter Game

Ladies and gentlemen, the Fx Carnival has just arrived in your city. Full of color, attractions and lights, this stage shows great brilliance. This proyect was based on  creating a scenario for a fighter game. The theme chosen was a somewhat gloomy amusement park, in the style of Harley Quinn or the Joker.

It took me 2 weeks to made all the props, made the set dressig, iluminate and animate all the enviroment. This was mas firt realistic proyect so I really enjoy finding some references to made the heroprops. 

Carnival - Assets

For this part I break down a series of hero props and kitbash of assets used to dress up this little stage.

Pretzels´s Wagon Hero Prop

Inspired by Disney's pretzel wagon.

Carrusel Hero Prop

The carrusel was one of the most difficult pieces, because I had to model the horses at Zbrush, and paint two variants. The carrusel in game has animation  too.  

Fortune Wheel Hero Prop

This prop had some Adoc textures for the cabins, and the rest of the wheel was made with metal trims textures. This prop has in game animation.

Fun House Hero Prop

One of the most fun and weird hero props was the fun house. It was model on Zbrush. The prop has spinning wheels animations in game.

FX Carnival - Kitbash

Finally some of the props I made to made the set dressing of the enviroment.

FX Carnival Demo Reel

The Demo Reel shows a fantastic Carnival park with dynamic attractions and lights, and also some gameplay of the fighter game.

Alice in Wonderland - VR Game

Alice be careful, the queen of hearts is looking for you and has sent her cards, don't let her catch you or you will lose your head. This VR project for the master was born from the fantastic world of Alice in Wonderland.

This has been one of my favorite projects since I really like styled videogames, in addition to the variety of diversity of props made to made the the enviroment.

I made this enviroment in 3 weeks, from its conceptualization, blockout, prop modeling, texturing and set dressing.

As you can see the map is divided in 4 principal Alice themes, one inspired in the gigant mushroom kingdom, other inspired in the flower garden and the time bunny, other inspired in the hatter tea party and twisted forest, and the last one inspired in the queen of hearts castle.

Queen of Heart Poker Cards - Character

For the VR game Alice its been attack by the queen of card cards. For this proyect I made the 4 cards suits, the spade, diamond, heart and trebol. The card was model on Zbrush, and made two different texture materials, one for the black suit cards and the other for the red card suits.

The player hand its based on Alice hand.

Key, axe and Flamingo - Weapons

For the game we had to made 3 different types of weapons, mine are a little strage to be used as a weapond. The sword its based on the key that Alice used to open the door through the wonderland, the axe its based on the axes that the queen of hearts solierds had, and finally the spear its based on the queen of hearts flamingo that she used to grab to play cricket.

Assets 

For this proyect I had several different props because almost every prop was unique, but I have so much fun doing all of them.

Absolem 

Inspired on Alice in Wonderland Movie, I made absolem model on Zbrush.

There are several assets for the map, I also made a modular kitbash for the queen of hearts castle.

Materials

For the first time I had the oportunity to made my own tilling textures using Subtance Designer, for this proyect I made several textures to texturing a lot of the enviroment surfaces. I really love and enjoy using this program.
