Sweet Treats

Sweet Treats is a short 2D animated film created for my final year project at the university of Hertfordshire. 

It follows a bunny who rushes to try to get her favourite sweet treat from the food market, a cinnamon bun, before they sell out.

Character Designs

I decided early on that I wanted my film to be set in a medieval/fantasy setting where instead of humans, there were animals with human qualities. This is not my usual style, however I wanted to push myself and try something different for my final year.

For my bunny's designs I already had a look in mind so I never strayed too far, however as my film progressed through the early stages, the bunny's personality did change, which led me to make her look bolder in colour and more expressive.

Concept Art

Starting my project, I created a few pieces of concept art to get a feel of the look I wanted to achieve. I wanted to create a vibrant and bustling town and give a lot of emphasis on the food on display.

Background Design

As Sweet Treats is set in a medieval/fantasy town, I took a lot of inspiration from European villages and towns and was drawn to the style of timber framed houses and decided it fit with the medieval theme I was going for. The film is also set during a food market, so there are stalls around with lots of food and sweets.
