Griffin Hammer Head

(Malleo Caput Faucet)

"Malleo Caput Faucet" or "Griffin Hammer Head" as I like to call it was a half-hearted project that was became in a personal obsession. Shortly after the previous "the rookies" I learned a lot about zbrus and I wanted to give this project a well-deserved render.

Originally this project was born of my interest in an extinct family of birds called "Phorusrhacidae" or terror birds, and an image I found of a chicken with a deformity that gave it four lower extremities. With these two ideas I began the development of a bird species that extructs quite similar to the mythological griffin.

For the development of the creature I did a search of anatomical references that made me remember a family of dinosaurs called "Protoceratopsidae", which gave me an excellent base for the idea of an abiar animal that uses its head as a weapon and hunts its prey with pecks. Comically when adding features of the terror abes ends up giving him a large tupe similar to a cockatoo and a disproportionate head that makes him similar to the Dodo bird, far from displeasing me I hug these features in the final design.

Roberto The Beholder

Similar with the previous project our friend Roberto was a project that unfortunately did not get to finish before last summer, being a personal project allows me to extend it in time months after the previous term of "the rookies" ended.

The interesting thing about Roberto is that he was born as the design for some stickers, so the process of its development is more casual.

Christmas illustration project

During the period of Christmas last 2022 I imposed myself to do a drawing challenge to generate illustrations with Christmas theme, here I leave the results:

In the first project I tried to generate something similar to old cocacola ads of the fifties, but using a cook troll as protagonist.

The second project was a tribute to "Dr. Seuss" and his work "How the Grinch stole Christmas!" but using a Lizarfolk.

Due to scheduling problems I ended up mixing several projects and making an illustration that tries to represent those family reunions on those dates, but with different animals.

Finally, my personal favorite, was a free illustration that tries to capture that friend or family that we all wait before starting all those dinners and parties.

Environments

During the last year I did my master’s degree in concep art and during that period I finished multiple scenarios that last year I could not present here so it seemed fair to find them a space:

For them use multiple programs such as Maya, Blender, and Unreal Enging, with some tweaks in Photoshop.

Adventure Project

I am currently making a series of illustrations for a personal project where I am designing various characters for a story of "Dungeons & Dragons".

Unfortunately today I continue with the process of creating the characters, I guess I will post the full ending next year.
