Hello everyone, it is a pleasure to be with you all here. This is my entry for the Environment art section of the contest. I really like doing environments since I was little and did so through different media. Here are my favorite works, 3 environments and 1 asset from 2 different projects. I hope you enjoy !

                                                                           Last Christmas

On a Christmas Night, a little girl named Lea is waiting for Santa but an unexpected guest arrives instead...

For our school project, I had to make the concepts, art direction and layouts for the environments, as well as the modeling/texturing of most of the assets.

                                                                              The exterior

The intention behind the exterior was to have a house that would fit into both a Christmas tale and a horror movie style. The Georgian architecture fits this intention perfectly. Indeed, the rich details, the warm lights from inside, the materials and their color, red and white, as well as the green pine trees could really embody the Christmas feeling. However, if you desaturate these colors and stylize the ornaments as well as the trees you could create a cold and sinister atmosphere.

I made everything from concept to finish except for the lighting.

                                                                      The bedroom assets

These assets were made for the bedroom. The intention behind the bedroom was to be at the same time warm and comfortable with modern toys and decorations but also scary and uneasy with the window and furniture matching the house style. Depending on the lighting it could easily change the atmosphere in the room. I was in charge of the furniture.

                                                                                   The corridor

The intention behind the corridor was to feel uncomfortable and scared so that you wouldn't want to go out of the bedroom. That is why I followed a Victorian style that fits this feeling.

I made everything except for the lighting

                                                                    The Raging Blade

There is a legend about an ancient sword. On a freezing winter night, a great warrior and his loved one knew a tragic fate. It is said his spirit could not find rest and so took refuge in the weapon itself. Since then, the sword would be full of vengeance and bloodthirsty. It would lead its users to violence, for it would not stop until it has tasted the blood of the one who wronged him. However, one day a great warrior would appease it and use it once again to protect instead of harm.

For this asset, I went for a cold and dramatic feeling. First, it seems like a normal katana, but if you take a closer look you can see some reddish color on the blade and a pendant rolled upon the handle. These details suggest that this sword has a terrible past and lets you wandering what happened, why and how?
