The Elemental Carousel

The Elemental Carousel is a project I created for my year 3 university final major project.

This project was made to showcase all that I have learned over the years at university with software such as Maya, Substance Painter and ZBrush exhibiting knowledge with 3D modelling, Sculpting, Texturing, Animation, Lighting and Rendering.

The origin of this project was my passion for theme parks, rides and attractions. I knew that if I created my final project within a subject I was passionate and knowledgeable about, I’d stay motivated throughout the project.

Turntables

My aim has always been to go into 3D modelling as a main specialism but to also know how a lot of the rest of the pipeline works.

The organ is one of my favourite assets I've created as it is detailed and gives the rest of the scene life by allowing music.

This image is with some of the references I used to model the organ. The organ also changed slightly adding a compartment for the drums and making the bottom sides look more appealing.

I really enjoyed working on this project, compared to my last university projects this blows them out of the water.

The Smiler

For this mini project I wanted to create a model that would expand my showreel and my love for theme parks, rides and attractions by building and 3D modelling the Smiler Car from Alton Towers. I love Alton Towers and wanted to 3D model something from there and make it look realistic.

A few renders with the asset in action

I built the track as a quick build to make these renders. I love how this asset turned out and will definitely create more rollercoaster cars in the future. This was made in Maya and textured with substance painter.

Dragon Head Sculpt

This Dragon head sculpt was made for a year 2 collaboration project where a group of us joined together to create a fight animatic where they battle in a mountain fortress using Inspiration from Japanese and Chinese temples. My job was to create the dragon head that was carved out of the mountain and to also build the mountain. This turned out to be one of my most detailed sculpts so far.

Thank you for taking the time to view my work.
