Wild Animals (and Other Names for Uncivilized Little Girls)
A young girl raised by monkeys is thrust into the world of high society after being rescued from the jungle by an aristocrat woman. At first she is delighted by the beautiful dresses and delicious food of society, but soon she learns that aristocrats can be just as savage as wild monkeys.
Wild Animals (And Other Names for Uncivilized Little Girls)
Wild Animals (And Other Names for Uncivilized Little Girls) is a short film made during Rachel Weiss' thesis year at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Focusing on Amy, a young girl who has spent the first ten years of her life surrounded by rowdy, aggressive, monkeys. We watch as Amy discovers a refined way of life in the nearby aristocrat village and must choose between being prim and proper and being wild in the jungle.
Wild Animals utilizes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate, and Adobe After Effects to create its visual style and experiments with rigging and pupating within Adobe Animate to bring the animation to its fullest potential.
Wild Animals also focuses a lot on the compositing of the film with many effects and tools being used such as masks, green screens/texture mapping, and color effects to bring the look together.
