Neon eye house

Neon eye house, concept by Sharoryy. One of my oldest and favorites models. With it, I tried to improve my texture and lightning skills.

I started making a blocking with simple cubes to approach to the concept shapes. Then, I made most the models at maya, creating a very lowpoly ones for the inner house, and export to zBrush for the organic shapes. Also, I added the surface details to the bricks to make easier the texturing. To avoiding constant crashes cause of my outdated computer, I divide the objects in several materials and texture projects. After baking and correct the maps, I started texturing in subtance painter in a PBR stylized artstyle adding some patterns created with photoshop and substance designer. Rebdered in marmoset toolbag.

Warhammer orc chopper sword

Warhammer orc chopper sword, unknow concept artist. I made this model for a VFX trainee and my favourite one. It's was requested to do with a big polygon density on the skulls.

I started accurately modeling the main shapes with maya quad draw and imported to zBrush. Then, I put most of the work on the skull details and made the handle ropes with zBrush extract and masks, to finally add the cracks, deformations and blends to texture, creating my own alpha maps for the blade geometrical shapes.

After retopology, I started texturing wiht a PBR stylized materials, taking care of a properly texel density between materials. Also, I reduced to two materials to optimize my computer resources, who was pretty outdated. I painted manually some details and adding extra layers for ambient occlusion and color to higlight the interesting parts.

Desert wereb house, concept by Raizh.

For this model I followed the same work process I explained before, creating the blocking to adjust the shapes, and the importing the model to zBrush to create the bricks in the high poly and add the details for textures. I made this project specifically to improve my handpaint skills in more cartoonist style, focusing in baked lights to make rich colors and fitting better on the environment and context of the asset.
