I am Matthew du Plessis, and I am currently busy doing my Bachelor of Art and Design (3D Animation and Visual Effects) degree at Media Design School in new zealand, Auckland, I am currently in my 1st year.

I created a few character design concepts, of a mouse character, who is a mouse yet a human in a sense. I  ended up picking the best mouse concept and then I moved on to creating a turntable of him showing the front, side, back, and a angle shot, in total for different poses oh how I envisioned him, to be, as I was creating tuff the mighty mouse.

Bio theme story: He is a mighty mouse, called tuff, even though he is a scaredy cat, he loves to steal cheese from a cat called Joey, he guards his beloved cheese and let no one take it from him or get close to it and his lasagna, so as soon as the cat falls a sleep, due to being so lazy, as soon as he closes his eyes, Tuff then dashes to find to the kitchen to go find his own beloved cheese, by eating and taking the cat's precious treasure all for himself.

I then added the turn table concept on paper into blender, and started by modeling all the shapes into position, and then I strarted sculpting and made his facial details, body, hands, feet, legs, arms.

I used Zbrush to create the shirt and tie's clothing.

I then did retopology in Maya, of Tuff the mighty Mouse.

I used photoshop to create the basecolor and texturs of his skin, and fur and shoes.

I used Adobe Substance Painter for creating the textures for the tie and shirt.

In Conclusion Blender and Zbrush were used for sculpting, Maya was used for retopology, xgen realistic fur, textures and lighting and Rendering.

I had loads of lighting in it but, I just used a skydome instead because it gave me the results I was going after.

Total Time in total 21 hours and 2 minutes.

2hrs and 5 min on retoping the tie and shirt, and lighting.

Shirt and tie sculpting 1h, and 15 min

Spent 2 hours cleaning up the Uvs and a few minutes adding new maya textures on the the character and renaming them.

Arms sculpt in blender: 2 hours and 17 minutes.

Arms and chest, body, retopology in maya 2 hour and 55 minutes.

Face sculpted in blender, 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Maya Both legs retop, 15 minutes.

Head retop in Maya: 1 h and 42 minutes.

Shoes Retop: 10 minutes.

Base color done in photoshop and adobe substance painter: 2 hour and 35 minutes

Tooth Retop 7 minutes.

I own the copyright to this character, I have created him from scratch, so the copyrights of Tuff The Mighty Mouse belongs to me.

In Conclusion The fork lift was modeled and textured in maya and photoshop.

Next the forklift was created in 2 weeks, the modeling took 6 days, and Texturing was done manually using only photoshop to create the textures for the forklift, only small parts were used such as procedural texturing.
