My submission to the Rookies Awards 2023. I chose this asset to see if I could push my texturing skills forward and try and recreate an asset as faithfully as possible.

The blowtorch was modelled in Maya and textured in Substance Painter. The heatproof tiles underneath the asset were created using Substance Sampler with my own reference images. The above stills were rendered using Arnold. 

This is the first project I have used Marmoset on, and while I initially wanted to use it to speed up the Look Dev process, I quickly became impressed with it's rendering capabilities. Therefore, I decided to try and recreate one of my reference images as faithfully as possible. 

The image sequence is as follows: Marmoset Render, Reference Image, Marmoset Render with Wireframe Overlay. 

Simple camera move animation created as to show the more complex topology in better detail. Arnold render with wireframe overlay.

Turntable animation created using the same lighting setup as shown in the above Arnold renders. 

Reference images captured by myself, organised inside PureRef.
