Lucy, the short film about street harassment and how it can affect its victims

The idea, at its core, was to talk about street harassment and just how much it affects the daily lives of those who suffer it, since it was an opportunity that U-Tad was bringing the students by allowing them to develop their own short films to approach a subject that is necessary to give light to. However, as the story was developed further, it became apparent this could make it a useful lesson to the people that have never suffered it as well as a companion and friend to the ones that live with it, by having a character that has never gone through street harassment be helped and given a safe place by the people that do suffer it.

Since the birth and shaping of the idea, the visual style was clear and so were the references the short film would have in order to achieve them. On its first pitch, one of the strongest points Lucy had was the clear direction to follow in order to achieve that final look, as well as a deep research in many different styles and ways to work in so that the short film could be well done within the less than two academic years that the animation students had in the subject Projects: bold, saturated colors, simple shapes and use of silhouettes in order to give the maximum with the minimum work.
