Memories of Tranquility

This environment piece is a personal project. My main goals for the project were to gain more experience with hard surface modelling and realistic texturing. I aimed for a project that could either fit 3D Animation or Architechtural Visualization or both. It ended up leaning more towards 3D Animation. 

All parts of the process are done by me.

My process for this piece began with gathering reference and making a concept for the room. I aimed for a piece with a strong mood suggesting nostalgia, warmth and fuzzy, cozy feeling. 

For this project I wanted to implement some cloth simulation for the draperies and pillows, while the teddy was sculpted and the rest modelled. In Maya I had optimized models and in Unreal 5 I chose to have some of my models have higher resolution to make up for the lack of displacement maps. 

The scene was set up and rendered in Unreal 5 because of the ease of real time lighting and rendering.

The Cobatia

I made this creature project with the goal of creating a VFX ready creature.
All parts of the process are done by me, except for the fish mesh and diffuse maps for it. I set up the shaders using the existing maps provided with the mesh.
