Heart of The Abyss - Environment Showcase
Heart of The Abyss is a top-view boss fight arena in which the player embodies the Sea Watcher, guardian of the ocean, who has to purify the abyss from the Zlag, a viscous substance that corrupted creatures living underwater, including a powerful crab.
This project is our finally year video game. "Heart of The Abyss" is a hack'n slash boss fight in which the player embodies the sea watcher, guardian of the ocean, trying to fight a giant crab corrupted by a mysterious and danegrous matter.
In this 7 people team, I worked as a props/environment artist, modeling corals and creating textures and decals for the ground as well. I used several software including Maya, Blender and Zbrush for the modeling, and Substance Painter and Designer for the textures.
The goal was to create an immersive abyssal world with a cartoon style mixing a dark mood and emissive corals lighting an environment in a cartoon style based on color gradients and higlighted edges.
