Rune-Bearer's Blade Concept

Personal Project trying to combine Sculpting with painting and edits in Photoshop for a final Concept!

Original concept sketches done in photoshop, blockout in Maya, Sculpt and Rendering in Zbrush then back to Photoshop for final texturing/Touchup

I originally wanted the sword to be floating on some sort of platform, with additional runes "charging" the sword, waiting for someone to come claim it. It ended up taking too much Attention away from the Sword itself, so the idea was scrapped.

The sword itself came from several explorative sketches done in Photoshop, afterwards the final concept was taken into maya to make a blockout, and then sculpted and rendered in Photoshop. A much simpler version of the Platform was also sculpted, but it still felt too distracting.
