Lana Igosheva - Concept Art 2023

I was tasked to make a concept art piece of anything I wished. I really like the idea of old ancient ruins, as generic as they may be, so I started off with exploring some ideas in my thumbnails.

None of the thumbnails felt like the same world so I worked on 4 more to narrow my ideas down. I ended up liking the top left one the most but I heavily reworked it in the end.

I took major inspiration from Indonesian architecture for my structures in this particular piece. I had a bit of trouble with capturing the scale of the temple so I ended up tweaking the composition a little bit in the final render. This was made in Blender and then painted over in Adobe Photoshop.

This is the final result. I am quite happy with how it turned out but next time I will try to spend a little more time rendering my next piece in Photoshop.

Another project I worked on was making 5 different characters with 5 unique archetypes. I made my characters by drawing silhouettes first and then exploring the ones I liked the most. For some characters, it was tough as I already had a vision of what I wanted them to look like and who they were as characters. This is the process I took for each one of them:

I look forward to creating more art and improving my skills as I know I still have a long way to go. I feel very lucky to be pursuing my passion for art and studying under the amazing instructors at CDW Studios so a very special thanks to them!
