Emma Tintet
by EmmaSalettis on 28 May 2023 for Rookie Awards 2023

Here you can find a small collection of the works that I made between 2022 and 2023. The projects are mostly focused on modeling, texturing and compositing. Hope you enjoy!

Libellula Luctuosa

This project was realized during my 2nd year at Esma. I had to reproduce a lifelike dragonfly, to create a realistic image with a basic rigg. It was also my first time modeling organic and using xgen interactive. I learnt how to use Mudbox to paint and sculpt my insect, which was rendered with Renderman. I only added glow for the compositing part.

The Fennec Fox

The purpose of this 2 months 3D project was to reproduce realistic fur with Xgen interactive, using curves as guides. I chose to represent a Fennec fox in his natural environment thanks to a little rig. A lot of references was necessary through the process. The modeling part was only realised in Maya. I used photoshop for the texturing and Nuke X for the compositing.

I had two weeks for the modelisation, using Maya.

Eddy's Adventures

This project was my first work with a team. I created the two following characters based on the concepts. I tried to make a 2D painting effect on Substance. I used xgen interactive for the squirrel. The tail was the most difficult part to match with the concept. I tried to adapt the topology to facilitate the rigg and skin.

Joy was the first 3D human character I created. It was also my first time using Xgen interactive core which makes me work as clean as I could.

Finally I realised the compositing of the three shots of our little project. I tried to match the atmosphere  with my 2D concept of the living room. The most difficult part was to change the appearance of the window while the camera was moving.

The Hand

This project was quite challenging since I had to reproduce my own hand. To make it more believable, I took photographies of my hand as projections for the texturing and sculpting with Substance Painter. I also added some fur.
