Hi everyone, I'm Tomas, and I'm glad to present a selection of my works as an environment artist. It is my last year as a student, and it was the perfect moment to show you what I've learned through my four years of formation. I hope you'll like it!

Tri-Stone

Tri-Stone is my mid-term exam. It is an environment based on the game Darksiders II. It was the first time I had to do an entire production pipeline, from modeling assets to integration and lighting. I only had four weeks to achieve it, so I'm pleased with the result.

Original concept by Vigil Games. 

Here is the kit I made to build my scene in Unreal Engine 5.

I had so much fun making the lava and water materials. I worked with "layers" that allowed me to densify them.

Project Katabasis

Katabasis is a 4v1 TPS shooter where mercenaries explore an alien asteroid only to discover horrible monsters in its depths. It's a six weeks group project that is also my last year exam.

Since I am in the environment team, I had the fantastic opportunity to learn Substance Designer during the first two weeks and loved it. My main task is to do the texturing of the assets and create materials.

This material is supposed to mimic the look of organic alien flesh; you'll find it on 3D support in the lower level of the asteroïd.

The sand material was by far the hardest to create. I had to redo it a few times because it kept looking way too stylized, but I achieved the right look in the end.
