Repurposed New York Subway Carriage Cable Car
This is a New York City Subway Carriage which has been repurposed to a cable car. I wanted to re-purpose an already existing vehicle into a cable car such as a bus or train. The universe which this is set in re-purposes already existing assets to have different uses.
Hello everyone, my name is Jack Wade and I am a third year Game Art student at the University of Worcester, in my final year project I created a vehicle asset within Unreal Engine 5 for my portfolio project submission.
The universe which this asset belongs to has a society of people who repurpose already existing entities and give them a different role. I took reference from New York City subway carriages and wanted to strip the wheels from the bottom and have the carriage me carried and transported by cables.
I also used Metahumans from the Megascans library to populate my scene, I wanted to bring some life to my scene as I didn't want the cable car to have an abandoned look to it.

As a secondary part of my project, I wanted to create a street scene in the world that the cable car is set in and render out the cable car in the scene to give the viewer an idea of how it will travel through the city.
Glazy city is a fictional city based on the outskirts of New York City. It is a rough and underprivileged area which amounts in crime and poverty.
