Head in the Clouds
My senior thesis short, I am responsible for all aspects. Head in the Clouds is a whimsical story about a quirky student who daydreams with her head high in the clouds and must creatively elude her strict math teacher to remain there.

"Head in the clouds" has yet to be released in public and is privately listed for the judges. In the meantime please enjoy a small teaser and some development work that I've created!
Inspiration
The idea for this story originated from a quick doodle I drew in my sketchbook of a girl with her head in the clouds.
Process and Development

Character Models
With the final character paintings as a reference, I translated the 2D concept art to 3D using Zbrush and Autodesk Maya, focusing on appeal.
Environment
Creating two distinct environments was key to my film. The cloud world had to be peaceful and liberating while the classroom had to be stressful and depressing. I used camera movements to further enhance this, where the scenes in the clouds would have moving cameras while the classroom shots would only have still cameras. These intentional decisions would ultimately help the audience root for Milly to get out of the dreary classroom and back into the clouds.
