DRESSING TABLE

Here is my entry for The Rookie Awards 2023. This project has allowed me to improve my modeling, sculpting, texturing and rendering skills. During this year I have worked hard to learn as much as possible about the exciting world of 3D. This is the first stylized prop I've ever made.

MY WORKFLOW

This prop is inspired by the concept of Dmitri Kravets from Skills Up School. My intention was doing a stylized project to explore different styles and acquire new skills.

The process started with blocking in Maya. Then i did the high poly in ZBrush, combining different techniques to obtain the wear of the wood. Once all the details were made,  I went back to Maya to do the low poly and the uvs.

Finished the low poly, I started the baking process in Substance Painter. There I textured the dressing table. putting special detail in the passage of time. To do this, I used different resources. For example, I created the stickers in Photoshop and touched them up so they didn't look new. Also, I've included different variations of roughness and dirt effects during texturing.

Finally, after exporting the maps from Substance Painter, I put everything together in Marmoset to make the render. I tried to highlight the details and give a fantasy look. I added some particles to respect the concept as much as possible and faithfully recreate its atmosphere.

Thanks for taking the time to see my work!
