Our very first modeling assignment. - I chose to model pp501 designed by Hans J. Wegner

Our assigment meant going online and finding images to reference and if possible blueprints in order to turn this:

Into this:

It was a process and a half to understand how to model and build your own UW-maps.
We built our own studio as well to control light conditions.

As the only stipulation of the project was to model the chair you had free reigns to turn the image in to a pleasing conecpt, I made a an ad-like poster that would work as a single sheet or double sheet ad in a magazine for instance.

My attempt at a Matte Painting in Photoshop. A big wall that was fun to overcome, the longer the project went on the more fun it became.

We had to draw a sketch in 3 different moods and our class would vote on which sketch they thought I should finalise.

My 3rd sketch got the vote.

A quick moodboard to get the feeling I was after.
I drew inspiration to the building from CCTV headquarters.

And here's a quick breakdown of the composition.

My image for our group project for a concept hotel.
We were given a location in the world and tasked with creating a hotel.
each one in the group was responsible for their own image.
Our location was Nova Scotia, Canada.

The theme of the hotel was supposed to be apparent in every image, below is a small display of the group project.
-!The other two images I had no hand in creating or constructing!-

As we had to work towards a common goal there was a lot of research and colour matching.
We shared textures to create similar feel and used a simple A-frame as the basis all modules of the hotel.
We created two moodboards for the group to have a red thread throughout.

My own process was staggered but we had done a lot of trial and error before deciding on angles.
I had to adjust very little throughout with the camera and instead spent my time on textures and colour matching.

After the assigment was over I went back and made a quick night render to see what it would look like.
