Join me on a journey to the past so you can see the shots I have created during my training process as a 3D animator.

Animation is a fascinating creative process that involves a series of key stages to bring characters and scenes to life. From initial planning to final polishing, every step along the way is crucial in achieving great results.

In this project, we will look back to explore the process I have followed as an animation student to achieve a quality shot. From using video references to the final rendering, I have embarked on a creative journey, paying special attention to each phase of animation, including blocking and refining.

My goal is not only to showcase the artistic process behind each shot but also to share my evolution as an animator, shot by shot. I hope you enjoy it! :D

MUTE HUNGER

To begin, it is essential to remember the pre-animation phase, known as "thumbnailing". This stage, included in the planning process, plays a crucial role in defining the key poses of our animation.

In Mute Hunger, I discovered a total of 22 poses, including breakdowns. These poses were subsequently modified based on the changes suggested by my supervisor and peers in response to the feedback received.

FIND YOU

Here I present my first lipsync shot Find You. At this stage, the situation becomes more challenging compared to previous modules, as the advanced characters provided by the school have a greater number of controls and functions to consider. Trying to apply all the concepts learned throughout the master's program was quite a challenge for me.

DRY TOILET

Before concluding the preliminary phase of mechanics, I would like to introduce you to body acting or pantomime. Body language sometimes proves to be even more important than verbal language, as it always remains sincere. There are as many body languages as there are individuals, each with their own unique personality.

Through my project Dry Toilet, I understood that it is not solely about expressing something with the body but rather constructing the authentic soul of the character. The personality conveyed through body acting is what truly allows us to deeply understand our protagonist.

LOST WHEEL

Lost Wheel is a fragment of a sequence consisting of 3 shots in which I conducted a study of body mechanics. Understanding the possibilities offered by the body and its mechanics was a valuable learning process for me. Grasping concepts such as balance, weights, and inertia is crucial in creating a shot of this kind. Additionally, it is important to consider other principles such as silhouette and arcs, among many others.

As a conclusion and to wrap up, I want to emphasize that there is something even more beautiful than the artwork an artist is capable of creating: it's the process of learning, perseverance, and dedication. The challenges and the overcoming required to become the artist one desires are the elements that truly ignite art. Whether with the help of new technologies or without them, the essence we build as students will never be lost.

Thank you for joining me on this journey back in time and for viewing the shots I have created, from the most recent to the oldest ones at Animum Advanced School. I hope you have enjoyed it!
