Grim's Game
Grim's Game is a personal project that I've been working on in my spare time. Hope you enjoy it!
Grim's Game is a fantasy/thriller IP that I have been personally working on in my free time. I've always been a fan of escape room games and wanted to add an element of that into a horror game that heavily focuses on players who must use everything that is given to solve difficult puzzles/problems in the form of small games.
Miss Archibald
The Kugutsume
Mr. Nightmare
In this design, my aim was to capture not only the essence of sleep, particularly nightmares but also to imply a form of inner damage that serves as the source of Viktor's own haunting nightmares. To begin, I contemplated incorporating numerous stars or moons to symbolize the night sky. After exploring different options for night clothing, I ultimately found the idea of the blanket and detached limbs intriguing, as it suggests a traumatic event that might have affected his body while sticking to the core theme of sleep/nightmares. Furthermore, I find it fascinating to consider the concept that with his ability to project nightmares, his physical form may have already healed or be capable of healing, yet the image projected reflects Viktor's genuine and unsettling nightmare.
Metatron Astraroth
As the creator of Grim's Game, Metatron is the embodiment of death itself, making it fitting to design the character with the themes associated with the Grim Reaper. Therefore, I incorporated elements such as the scythe, symbolizing the tool that severs souls from their bodies. While not inherently intrinsic to the design, the presence of ravens helps further establish the notion that the main antagonist is an ominous figure, one to be avoided at all costs. Lastly, the addition of horns serves to reinforce the impression of his malevolence, highlighting his enjoyment in the suffering of others.
Booker Davis
My goal from the start was to create a character who would excel in the game by being exceptionally smart and thinking outside the box. I tried out different shapes and chose the ones that had a detective vibe. The final design maintained a dark and serious feel while still having an appealing silhouette. I included glasses to show intelligence and played into the book nerd stereotype. The trench coat, chest holster, and gun hint at the character's abilities and their knack for detective work in Grim's Game. I went with a calming blue color palette to make the character seem trustworthy.
