Round of applause for our sponsors

Greenlight is a mobile travel digital scrapbook. As Gen Z, we noticed that there are some key issues with group travel in today's world. Some of those include: losing the memories of the trip quickly after the trip ends, sharing photos in a group can be a pain, and balancing being present while still documenting your trip can be difficult. When our group was asked to create a travel app, we knew exactly what problems we needed to solve.

We dove right into creating Greenlight, with only a 10-week timeframe to research, prototype, analyze, and deliver. First, we conducted generative research to understand who we were making this product for. We interviewed users to see what issues they were having with group travel, and they agreed there were many issues to solve here. From there, we decided to create an app that would curate a recap of all of the media, thoughts, and memories from a group trip. This was no easy task, we came to find out. The prototyping phase was filled with erasers, ctrl z, and sorting out how to make this app accessible quickly and keep each feature straightforward. With our 3rd version of wireframes, we were on our way to some UI concepts and heading back to the users for their input. After testing our initial UI with users, we had several changes to make. We switched our Home Screen and navigation the most with our user feedback. We changed from a widget-style home screen to a navigation bar and the results were significantly better.

Throughout this process, we learned how important it is to keep our goals and our users in mind in every design decision. By week 8, we were so lost in the design itself we had lost track of why and who we were designing for. A regroup and realignment was very necessary with the help of our users!

This was our group's first ever UX project. We learned so much throughout the experience, and in 10 short weeks, we have a full product start-to-finish. We are very proud of our hard work and love to look back at all of the progress we made.
