◈ DUAT

It is a MOBA-type game in top-down perspective, inspired by Egyptian funerary mythology.

One arena. Two camps.
Each camp picks up feather to score in the opposite camp.
The winner is the team with most points.

Players embodies a fallen god, trapped in the Duat : the realm of the dead.
And each arena represent a different vision of the afterlife.

◈ About

Our challenge was to create a playable game demo, on Unreal Engine 5. We had 4 months from September to December 2022, to do it.

Environment artists: Estelle Panel and Mélanie Khau
Character artists: Ludivine Bellot, Baya Benedetti and Eva Le Cocguen
Music:
Anthony Damario

◈ Bridge of Oblivion

The first arena is a representation of the desolated afterlife.

A lonely tomb close to being submerged by the fog and the sand. That’s why the atmosphere is a mix between death's symbols like the pyramid and desaturated color, to remind the disappearing life.

Environment design by Estelle Panel

◈ Nile dam

It is a representation the heavenly vision of the afterlife.

The oasis is a source of life in the deadly desert. That’s why the atmosphere is a mix between blue tones to remind water, lush vegetation and light structure.

Environment design by Mélanie Khau

◈ Anubis

Anubis is a protective divinity of embalmers and necropolises.
He represents the role of distance mage

Character design by Ludivine Bellot

◈ Sekhmet
