My Compositing Journey

Hi! My name is Felipe Rudas, I'm from Bogotá, Colombia, I always liked Cinema and all my studies were guided by that passion, I started Uni in 2017 as a Communication designer, nevertheless I had felt that I needed to follow a more specific path, which was post production, I started to study by myself Mattepaiting, until I found Animum Creativity Advanced School in Malaga Spain, so I took the big step and here I am!

A whole new world

This was my very first nuke scene, not gonna lie, but, I had to rewatch a lot of my classes in order to have a good outcome! Also the school gave us all the material which I find pretty cool!

As things progress...

Every week everything started to be more complex, but also more demading.

We started to work through sequences, which makes color matching complexe.

Big Star Wars fan here!

During my studies, we worked with a few scenes inspired by Star Wars, and seeing how a blockbuster film was made through VFX breakdowns was pretty awesome!

Real life

I love movies that involves real life footage, cause it reminds me when I started to work with Photoshop at the age of 14, I used to change faces, erase backgrounds, retouching... etc. But in nuke... It was another level, cameratracking can be a blessing or a nightmare (Sometimes ngl).

Last classes

The master has 3 parts, 2 of compositing and 1 of color correction in Davinci Resolves, by the moment I'm writting this, I'm starting my last unit, however I'd like to show you one of my latest scenes at school!

I think it's a summary of all I've learned so far.

As I mentioned, I haven't finished my master yet, I'll finish in July 2023, meanwhile feel free to watch my breakdown and demo reel!
