2022-2023 3D works - Louis Herrero

Hi, I'm a student in ESMA Toulouse, and I want to introduce some of my works for the Rookies Awards. I made all the aspects of these projects !

MEERKAT

My first project is a Meerkat. I had to do an animal and i chose a Meerkat. I also wanted to put one of the predator of the Meerkat, the Cobra. I made less details for the cobra because we can only saw his back.

It was the first time i had to do some fur, i used Xgen interactive. It was very interesting, i had to replace the curves a lot of time before it was credible.

LECHUCK

My second work, LeChuck. I did this 3D illustration of LeChuck from Monkey Island game series. I spend a lot of time thinking of what i will do for the background and i chose to represent LeChuck's amusement park.

The challenge for this project was to use this colorimetry, and to bring back the local colors. I also had a lot of things to do in compositing and had a hard time finding a good sky.

RED ANT

Third work, the Ant. I had to do an insect at a macro scale. I wanted to do an Red Ant. It was the first time i modelized an organic thing in 3D. I also made for the first time a very basic rigg to make the ant more believable. I also made water and used some megascans.

The blur was made with renderman, i barely did anything in compositing.

THE WITCHER

Last Work, The Witcher. I did a project in collaboration with Mélodie Carn. These two images are from me, with the exception of the creature in the background of the first image. We had to create a little story in a universe. I chose to represent in the first image the preparation of the Witcher before the battle against a creature.

In the second image, we can see a cursed sword in the middle of a swamp. This project was made in very few days, and it was interesting to work with someone else.
