Italian Breakfast

"Italian Breakfast" was my first photorealism project at Skyup Academy, made during the texturing module. Below you will find the final render, followed by the concept that I had to emulate ( made by Dariela Cruz) with the project's PureRef.

Firstly, I studied the scene that I had to recreate by preparing a PureRef containing various references of the objects present in the scene (e.g. croissant, mug ...). Also, this includes various textures of different materials (such as cotton and wood), which were used as a reference in the texturing step on Substance 3D painter.

In the following screenshots you will see the various modeling steps in Maya, starting from the blocking fase up to the final render. Some of the organic parts of the concept has been sculpted in Zbrush (the nutella and the croissant)

After the modeling phase, I moved on to the texturing phase on Substance 3D Painter, which ended on Maya.

Below you will find the shading process of the croissants.

After having exported the textures from Substance 3D Painter to Maya, I set the lightning on Maya.

Dino the Dragon

"Dino the Dragon" is my first work at Skyup Academy, made during the digital sculpting module. Below you will find the final renderings.

They assigned each of us students a different concept. Below you will find the reference from which I created my work, made by David Talaski.

In the following puref there are references that vary from dragon anatomy to other animals that have similar shapes or postures to the original reference (e.g. bat wings). Additionally, the pureref includes various textures of different animals (e.g. snakes/lizards) that have been used as a reference to recreate the skin and scales of the dragon.

In the following screenshots you will see the various modeling steps in Zbrush. I started with the Zspheres as an initial block phase and then proceeded to sculpt the various parts of the body more precisely. Then I moved on to creating all the little details (e.g. the veins of the wings and the scales of the body) to finish with the final pose.

As a final step, I added some green and purple lights (the first pic on the left is the photo used as a reference).
