Chefboytrolly x YETI | Fictional Collaboration

For this project, I was tasked with choosing a brand to collaborate with, creating a product merging my art style with the brand's product, and then creating a promotional advertisement for said product. I chose the YETI to be my brand.

I was tasked with creating a fictional artist x brand collaboration where I choose a brand and promote both myself and said brand through creating a concept for a collaboration product and a motion graphic to promote said product. I chose the brand YETI as I have a collection of their products already and my art style contrasts with their solid one color aesthetic. I began by making the product by illustrating on a cooler model in procreate.

The next step was creating the 30 second advertisement for the product. I first began by modeling a scene in Cinema4D that would act as the transition from the 2D frame by frame animated sequence. The scene is then rendered out with the sketch and toon effect as three different .png sequences: 1. The foreground character  2. The spraypaint cans 3. The yellow ball in the back that would go on to serve as a track matte for a gradient ramp in after effects.

Once imported into After Effects, I finished the scene with animated trim path spraypaint lines, motion tracked 2D animated imagery.

I repeated this same process for the city skateboarding sequence in the scene immediately after.

The 2D animated sequences were frame by frame animated over live footage references in Adobe photoshop.

After the 2D animation sequences we're complete, everything was then edited together in After Effects to make the fiction product promotion.
