Round of applause for our sponsors

Hello, this is my entry for the Rookies Awards. As a student at ESMA, I'm thrilled to show you a couple of school projects I have been working on for the past two years. I was responsible for every aspect of these projects, from the initial concept (unless otherwise specified) and modeling, to texturing, rigging, posing and rendering. I'll hope you will enjoy seeing my projects as much as I enjoyed working on them.

At the start of the second year, our first assignement was to create a 3D model of an insect, texture it, rig it and pose it within an environement. The insect I have chosen is a 8-spotted jewel beetle (Buprestis Octoguttata).

The second project served as a pretext to model something more organic and to use xGen. Just like the insect, my chipmunk was first modeled, textured, rigged and posed withing an environment.

As a final project for our second year, our task was to design and create a cabin, beginning with a concept and culminating in a final 3D representation.

For this project which happened to be assigned during the third year, we had to model a character and their environment. Mine is based on an Artwork made by Petipöa from PetipöaStudio.

The textures were mainly done using Substance Painter. I added some extra details to the environement assets by sculpting some displacement maps on Mudbox. In order to generate hair and peach fuzz I have used both xGen Core and xGen interactive.

My workflow for creating the farmer girl involved sculpting on Nomad Sculpt and then moving to Maya for retopology and shape refinement.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to showcase our work and for organizing this contest !
